tsBeall
Based in: Scotland
Supported: Glasgow Urban Lab
tsBeall is a Dumfries-based artist working across Govan and Dumfries at the intersection of community heritage, performance and participatory methods to explore relationships between people, place and the natural world. Her practice blends artistic experimentation with deep listening, translating environmental and social justice themes into sensory and emotional experiences.
Through Turning the Tide in Govan and Dumfries, tsBeall supported creative dialogue around the Rivers Clyde and Nith and the climate justice challenges faced by Showpeople with longstanding connections to its banks. By centring marginalised voices and local histories, her work opened new ways of thinking about ecological change and collective responsibility with her contribution highlighting how environmental issues intersect with cultural identity, housing and mobility, bringing nuanced perspectives into wider project conversations.
Turning the Tide offered tsBeall an opportunity to situate her practice within an international context, learning from artists and communities across Europe while deepening her commitment to local engagement.
tsBeall continues to develop participatory projects rooted in Dumfries and Govan through her own cultural social enterprise, Protests and Suffragettes.
