Celina is a video artist and photographer whose work lives at the intersection of film, dance, and visual arts. For this residency, she is creating a new video piece in collaboration with a local dancer – weaving together movement, performance, and stories from local people about childhood fairy tales connected to water. Through this poetic audiovisual exploration, Celina reflects on these narratives while addressing the urgent realities of rising sea levels in Sweden and the global challenges of climate change.
Story About Water, 2025
“Story About Water is a 10-minute video art piece that blends local voices and movement into a new narrative about our relationship with water. The soundscape consists of recordings of Stockholm residents sharing childhood stories and myths about water, interwoven with a fictional tale written and narrated by the artist. Filmed around Slussen and nearby nature parks, the video follows a dancer embodying a mythical creature drawn from Swedish folklore. Through this choreography and storytelling, the work reflects on how collective myths shape our emotional response to the climate crisis and help us imagine new ways of belonging in a changing world”.
